The Greatest Underdog of All Time
Main character might surprise you.
I always wondered, why do people loved underdog stories so much. After some digging, I found that it was not as complicated as I expected.
It’s just a relatable fireball of hope. 🔥
Whenever we see the underdog win and achieve the unthinkable, we get excited with the little spark that maybe we can win to. It’s a simple way to transfer hope & generate energy. ⚡
It feels good witnessing in that moment, where the rookie has his fist up right to the sky, celebrating.
What can we learn from those moments?
Just how do we channel this belief to improvement of quality in our life?
Everyone wants to believe, that a better tomorrow is possible. Not everyone works for it though, which is an “ethical crime” according to Jordan Peterson.
“It is NOT okay for you to be a weak loser. Because you can be way more than that.
It’s an ethical crime for you to allow all that necessary potential to go to waste.
It hurts you, your family, it hurts the world.
Really, it does.”
By believing in our potential and responsibility to excel, inherent to our humanity, and by cherishing tales of underdogs, how can we blend these two forces to become an unstoppable force? 🍝
In May 29th, at 06:47 in the morning, I wrote an email to PUMA.
I was searching the designer for this art, “Take Pole Position” and wanted to specially thank him/her for this wonderful piece. (Unfortunately, they could not provide the information for me 😞)
Even though the watch stopped working, I was still wearing it.
It was a reminder for me that I was the underdog in many areas in life, just like the regular car in the art.
But, there was something that I can do to change the course.
I just needed to find my rocket. 🚀
Maybe you are struggling to build your body the way you want to. Maybe you want a new/better job. An improved social life through better social skills and emotional intelligence is your current goal.
Whatever that we are trying to achieve, If we purposefully direct or attention to it and make small improvement overtime.
We can write the best underdog stories. While knowing perfectly well that we are actually writing an underdog story. So we expect things to go wrong, we expect confusion, a little chaos.
We just believe that we can actually enjoy the chase.
There are things to do, within a limited time. Every moment that we chase the “impossible” dream is time we equip our rocket, to aim at the sky.
Which is infinitely better than debating & complaining anyway.
Struggling against overwhelming odds, adversity is relatable no matter where you live, whom you are with.
You, me, anyone, regardless of their starting point, can achieve great things.
Let’s live in such a way that we never forget.
