You’ll never see your fear the same way again.

Or not?

Have you ever had a goal that you wanted to achieve but were afraid to take the necessary steps? 🙄

Perhaps you’ve been putting off trying something you’ve always wanted to do out of fear of failure. 😶

Or maybe you didn’t speak up about your idea in a conversation because you were afraid of being judged. You may even be holding back from doing things you want to do out of fear of not being accepted by those around you. 😥

Fear can be a powerful emotion that could prevent us from achieving our dreams. It is a kind of barrier that needs to be defined & understood.

But what if I told you that fear could be a good thing?

Wait what?

Okay, before I explain my thinking, let’s talk about the fundamentals.

If you’re afraid of something, it means you haven’t developed the skills to cope with it. Changing this situation, acquiring the ability to confront it, as with everyone in the world, is possible for you too.

When you discover something you are afraid of, I propose that your first thought be something like:

“AHA! I’m afraid of something and running away from it. There is an invisible dragon here. If there is a dragon, there must be a treasure behind it.”

Whatever it is that we’re avoiding, holds a special treasure.

If you can confront that dragon (which is often perceived as strange by others 🤭) you can reach the treasure it’s guarding.

Some dragons are so big and scary that they are unimaginable to face for those who see them.

Regardless of what your mind tells you about it, you need to believe that there are small steps you can take. If starting to do what you dream of, seems infinitely frightening and challenging, you can start by simply imagining yourself doing it.

You can allow yourself to get used to the process by taking just one initial step each day.

If you deny the existence of the dragon or continue to run away every time you see it, you will always be looking at a treasure that you will never taste in your life.

However, chasing the treasure with small steps (infinitesimal if necessary) will guide you to a real adventure. 🛳

Here’s a small note: Most people don’t want security with defined boundaries. They want an adventure that challenges them to the extent they can handle.

In that adventure, being brave and developing yourself enables you continuously explore meaning, with more responsibility.

You already know how to do the things you know how to do. What’s uncomfortable, pressuring, and uncertain are the things you don’t know how to do.

And, of course, learning those things will be tough.

But it will be worth it. Because it’s priceless to see yourself grow. You, your loved ones, and all of humanity benefits from it.

Which dragons will you discover on your journey? 🤗
