How to Win in Life?
Yes, that’s the title. I’m that confident with it. 🔥
“You wanna really win in life?
Figure out what empathy is and practice it."
Boooo 😐
Was that it?
A cheesy one liner (well - two liners) just to bring us here.
You may feel like it but this wasn’t the crowds reaction when they heard Gary speaking.
What is empathy?
Who even is this man you are talking about?
Why did he tell the audience this exact sentence?
Hope you are curious. 😏
First of all, the definition of empathy.
Empathy is the ability to understand and share feelings for another.
Which looks so simple, yet it is incredibly complicated to apply in daily life.
Secondly, Gary.
Gary Vee is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker, storyteller, author and many more.
Fortune 40 Under 40 and all of that good stuff.
He is the subject of a web documentary, #DailyVee, about his life as a CEO at VaynerMedia.
The #AskGaryVee Q&A series, where Gary answers questions about social media, entrepreneurship, startups, and more, draws on his decades of experience building successful, multi-million dollar businesses.
He is the host of The GaryVee Audio Experience, a global top 10 business podcast, and a five-time New York Times best-selling author.
To me, he is someone that simply mastered the way to strengthen connections.
Lastly, why is he talking about empathy?
Down below, is a picture from a YouTube video, titled “DailyVee207” from 2017.
This, i guess we can call transition scene, has a text under it.
Take a look.
Here is the text description down below.
Stop doing things that waste time. Don’t replace time with your family or things that you need to do. I needed to put together two fantasy teams this weekend because that’s something I enjoy. But I did stop playing Nintendo Wii for hours on end.
Why would he show us this text?
It’s literally for 3 seconds maximum, who even is going to read it?
You see, on paper, Gary is passionate about building businesses. Quite literally, he has to work together with people, and communicate with them efficiently.
The reason he is an active user on “Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snap chat, LinkedIn, Tiktok, Spotify” is that, he maybe is one of the best to practice empathy.
All the distribution he is making with his content, is just to connect with more people.
Because he knows he has to go to the audience, not wait them to come to him.
Which sounds like practical empathy to me.
All of Gary’s efforts are just trying to encourage people to be more.
Enrich their lives and bring it more value to them.
Which is priceless.
The satisfaction is invaluable, when you feel like you connected with someone and you made each other better.
Gary chose to built an empire on it.
Anyone can taste it. 😄
Easiest way I know, “is to make something that brings value to the people closest to you.”
You will (inevitably) scale, later.
Two brands in one story?
Damn right.
Let’s make stuff.
While practicing empathy.
I cannot wait to hear from you.
